Larry and I just got back from a 180-mile relay from Blaine, WA to Langley on Whidbey Island. We had 12 people on a team in two vans, each person ran something like 12 to 18 miles taking three turns each. We finished in about 28 hours, running day and night! The hardest part was getting out of the van with stiff, sore muscles from running hard then sitting for hours. We all did well, and finished the race (our main goal was to survive.) Also on our team were: Harwood and Kathryn (Maren's sister) Jones, Dan and Artie Waite (good friends--still, I hope ;-)), Kristan (Maren's sister) Warnick, Hanna (Larry's sister) Franchino, and Kelly, Bob and Amy, and Nicole (friends of Hanna's and real runners!) Although it was hard, it was a great experience and some of the most beautiful ocean views and seaside towns ever. Whidbey Island has always been one of my favorite places in the world.
